The death of Lawrence “Larry” James Ward, husband of Lorinda “Mindy” (Augustine) Ward of Metepenagiag, NB, occurred on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the age of 54. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Anthony and Theresa (Sewell) Ward. Larry worked as a Band Councillor for the late 15 years and worked with Red Bank Fisheries prior to that. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, going to hockey games and helping people.
Besides his wife, Larry is survived by his children: Lauren Eden Ward and Larry “Lalio” Ward Jr. both of Ontario and Miranda Jade Augustine (James Coyle) of Metepenagiag, NB; granddaughter: Blake Coyle; his siblings: Eugene Ward, Joe Tony Ward, Dorothy Ward, Mary Veronica “Malley” Haddad, Mary Loretta “Ditney” Ward, William John “Jum” Ward (Velma), Patricia Ann “Patsy” Ward, Norman Stephen Ward and Charles “Chuck” Sewell as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Larry is predeceased by brothers: Robert Joseph Ward and Frank Sewell.
The family will receive visitors at Larry’s home, 48 Mountain Side Road, Metepenagiag, NB on Thursday after 7 PM and again on Friday, February 17, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11 AM with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery later in the spring.
