The death of Donald James Galley (Duck) husband of Marilyn (Lynch) Galley of Chaplin Island Road, NB occurred on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at the age of 73.  Born in Wayerton, NB on January 6, 1950 to Helen (Gorman) Galley & the late Philip Galley.  Donnie was a Millwright by trade & retired as Maintenance Supervisor from UPM in 2005.  Donnie was a member of the Newcastle Lion’s Club for over 20 years. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time at their camp, snowmobiling & four wheeling . He loved being on the water and built a houseboat by himself that he proudly named the “Marilyn Mae”.  He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling across Canada and the US. Together they enjoyed RV ing and always enjoyed listening to older music on the patio.  He loved football, baseball & hockey. He also enjoyed great card games with his family and friends.  
 
Besides his wife Marilyn, he is survived by his three daughters, Wendy, Melissa (Jason Ullock) , Holly (Owen Martin) . His three grandaughters, Alexa, Emily and Annika.  His Mother Helen, Sisters Phyllis Galley, Lynn Doyle (Kevin), Betsy Galley (Robert Muzzerall) and Bonnie Galley (Gary O’Donnell), all of Miramichi. One brother Fred (Bev) in Edmonton Alberta.
Aunts Rita Ryan and Donalda Galley LeFloch of Miramichi and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his father Phil, Donnie is predeceased by his sister Judy Matheson, Brothers Harold, Frankie and Danny.


A gentle giant who was loved by all!


The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 3-7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 o’clock with Father Godwin Kalu officiating. Burial will take place in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
