Obituaries

The death of Terrance “Terry” Walsh, long time partner of Elsie Harris of Miramichi, New Brunswick occurred at Miramichi Hospital on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, at the age of 64. Born in Newcastle, NB he was the son of the late Joseph “Joe” and Doreen (Hare) Walsh. He was a former Security Guard with Repap/UPM.
Terry was a lifelong fan of all sports. He loved playing ball, volleyball, and golf. His passion for softball and toughness behind the plate led him to play at the National level more than once. In recent years, he tried his best to attend his grandchildren’s baseball and volleyball games. He was a true Toronto fan, loving and hating his Leafs and Blue Jays right up until the very end. His quick wit and ability to torment his friends and family will be greatly missed.
Terry is also survived by his daughters: Stacey Verner and Lindsay Walsh (Josh Matchett) and their mother Lois (Sobey) Walsh all of Miramichi, NB; brother: Roy Walsh (Bettina) of Miramichi, NB; sister-in-law: Brenda Walsh of Miramichi, NB; aunt: Dee Hubbard of Strathadam, NB; grandchildren: Regan Verner, Will Walsh, and Roman Matchett; nieces: Becky Doyle (Will), Katie Walsh, Jamie Teed (Mark) and Erin Walsh. He was predeceased by his sister: Julie Whitney (John), brother: John “Jack” Walsh and nephew: Evan Walsh.
A public funeral service will be held from St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Miramichi, NB on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 10 AM.
