Lorraine Mary Roy
June 30, 1937-April 28, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorraine Roy, age 82 on April 28, 2020.
She was predeceased by her parents: Doran and Opal Melanson; her brother: Henry Melanson and sisters: Evva and Anne-Marie.

Lorraine is survived by her brother: Cameron Melanson (Josee); sister: Eleanor Williams (Bob); sister in law: Isabel Melanson; her daughters: Debbie Roy (Lyall) and Jeannie Nowlan (Byron) and sons: David (Geri), Danny (Laura) and Darrell (Marilyn); grandchildren: Terrance, Jennifer, Michael, Shalane, Andrea, Kayla, Krista, Kyle, Justin and 12 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Lorraine was born in Bathurst, moved to Miramichi in 1968 with her five children in tow. She was a school bus driver until her retirement in 2003. She then pursued a passion as a homecare worker with KRT.

Lorraine had a zest for life and a loving and giving nature for family and friends. She had a deep faith and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Red Bank.
We want to thank the incredible extra mural nurses for their compassionate care in the last six months.

Due to COVID-19 a private family visitation and burial was held. A public celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, NB on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 2 PM with Father Dan Melanson officiating.

As expressions of sympathy, in Lorraine’s memory, donations may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or a memorial of one’s choice. Messages of condolence can be sent through the funeral home website at www.miramichifunerals.ca
