Don served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years in the Tank Corp. He was a very proud Lord Strathcona Horse Soldier and a long-lasting Royal Canadian Dragoon. He loved gunnery and his Leopard Tank. Following his retirement, he then worked for the Calgary Police Force as their Recovery Tow Truck driver. He was respected by many of his co-workers and anyone who knew him. He took great pride in helping others. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed many all- season camping excursions to relax.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kim; two daughters, Tracy (Larry) and Jamie (Dave), a grandson Cole, a granddaughter Aspen, and three sisters: Lorna (Dave), Shirley (Ken) and Margaret (Gordon).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
According to Don’s wishes there will be no service and he will be cremated and returned home to Alberta for his final resting place. A private graveside service will be held at that time.
